I have always been fascinated with stained glass. I love the colours and textures that come out when the sun shines through. I have made hanging panels for several years, concentrating on the copper foil technique; recently, I began working with fused glass, making pendants that can be worn as unique pieces of jewellery, hung with a ribbon on a Christmas tree, or attached as a charm to a parcel.
My pendents are made by layering glass and then firing in the kiln. The majority of my pieces are 'fully fused', however, there are a few pieces that are 'tack fused'; where the glass pieces adhere to each other, but retain their individual shapes and textures. I include a variety of glass in my pieces ranging from opalescent to cathedral to dicroic, and include copper inserts, sepia and gold decals.
Recently I have begun crocheting with beads and wire to create necklaces and bracelets, and weaving copper and sterling silver rings to create chain maille bracelets.
